Upcoming Panel: Economics of Appellate Practice

On March 14, 2018 at the DRI Appellate Advocacy Seminar in Las Vegas, Capital Appellate Advocacy founder Lawrence S. Ebner will be moderating a panel on The Economics of Appellate Practice:  Surviving, and Hopefully Thriving, as an Appellate Litigator.    The panelists — Wendy Cole Lascher , Partner at Ferguson Case Orr Patterson LLP, Ventura, California; Amar D. Sarwal, Chief Legal Officer & Senior Vice President of Advocacy & Legal Services for the Association of Corporate Counsel, Washington, D.C.; and Vishal H. Shah, Associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania–will approach the subject of appellate practice economics from various perspectives.  They will cover topics such as the economics of teaming trial attorneys with appellate specialists when a case goes on appeal; marketing of appellate specialists to litigation clients;  alternative fee arrangements for appellate work; and staffing and handling appeals cost-effectively.
